On Saturday, Libya’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League and Acting Ambassador to Egypt, Abdulmutalib Thabet, met with Ali Saleh Musa, Yemen’s Acting Representative to the Arab League, at the Libyan mission headquarters in Cairo.
The two diplomats discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen coordination within the Arab League to serve mutual interests and support Arab causes.
They exchanged views on key regional and international developments, emphasizing the need for stronger Arab diplomatic cooperation to address common challenges.
For his part, Thabet reaffirmed Libya’s full support for Yemen’s presidency of the 162nd session of the Arab League Council at the foreign ministers’ level.
He expressed confidence in Yemen’s ability to lead efforts in promoting Arab cooperation and advancing joint initiatives. He also reiterated Libya’s commitment to Arab unity and closer collaboration with Yemen to tackle shared regional issues.
Moussa praised the historical ties between Libya and Yemen, highlighting Libya’s role in supporting Arab affairs and fostering cooperation within the Arab League. He welcomed continued diplomatic engagement and emphasized the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed to sustain coordination and communication, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties in a way that benefits both nations and their people.
