Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, met with Dr. Jibril Al-Badri, head of the National Development Authority, at the General Command headquarters. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the Ajdabiya Green Belt and Desertification Control Project, a key environmental initiative launched under Haftar’s directives.
During the discussion, Dr. Al-Badri presented updates on the project’s achievements, which include the planting of 30 million seedlings to strengthen the region’s vegetation cover and mitigate the effects of desertification. This initiative aims to create a green barrier around Ajdabiya, improving the local environment and promoting sustainable development in the area.
The project is expected to have long-term environmental and economic benefits, contributing to climate resilience and fostering green growth in Libya’s eastern region.
