The government noted that it is closely monitoring reports circulating on social media platforms and expressed profound concern about the ongoing situation.
“We wish complete safety for all residents in the affected areas,” the statement read, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to manage the crisis effectively.
Libya has been in chaos since a NATO-backed uprising toppled longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The county has for years been split between rival administrations.
