The Ministry of Health in the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), has established a centre for treating people infected with COVID-19, in the city of Sabratah. The centre has a clinical capacity of 32 beds.

The media office of the Health Ministry indicated that it had begun providing the new centre with the necessary medical supplies for operating, as well as a new laboratory to examine samples of suspected cases, using the PCR technology.

The director of project management, Mohamed Al-Azoumi, confirmed that work was underway to enhance the city’s ability to provide the liquid oxygen needed for health facilities to function. In light of these difficulties, the MoH has managed to overcome the global shortage and secure adequate supplies.
