The Tripoli-based Audit Bureau chief, Khaled Shakshak, discussed Wednesday with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya Sarhan Aksan, the reasons and background for Turkish companies not returning to complete their work in Libya.

He emphasized the need for those companies to return to work as soon as possible, especially contracting companies in the field of electricity.

Shakshak stressed that the Tripoli office wouldn’t grant new approvals except to companies that are already in Libya and that the priority will be for companies that will help get out of the crisis the country is going through.

The media office noted that next Friday, Shakshak will meet with the heads of the Inca and Calik companies in Istanbul, indicating that the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company and other officials will also attend the meeting.

In the same context, Shakshak suggested to the General Electricity Company that it is necessary to work on contracting with companies specialized in the field of support and consulting, as well as in the field of operation and management to develop the company’s work.

This is to help it reform and get out of the crisis it is going through, stressing that the office will support this idea if it is adopted.

The statement indicated that Shakshak’s meeting with the Turkish ambassador came based on his meeting Tuesday with the President of the Presidency Council and the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, regarding the need to address the electricity crisis and develop urgent solutions to it.
