Egypt’s Armed Forces announced on Saturday that its Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, has sent a formal message of congratulations to General Khaled Khalifa on his appointment as Chief of Staff of the Libyan National Army (LNA).

In his message, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa highlighted the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Libyan armed forces. He stressed that this appointment represents an important step in supporting efforts to strengthen security and stability in Libya.

The Egyptian Chief of Staff also expressed his country’s readiness to expand cooperation and joint coordination between the two militaries, underscoring Cairo’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

The move comes as both Egypt and Libya continue to enhance military collaboration amid regional security challenges. Observers see the appointment of Khaled Khalifa as a significant development in reinforcing the institutional structure of the Libyan military and fostering closer ties with neighboring Egypt.

The Egyptian Armed Forces reaffirmed that Cairo remains committed to assisting Libya in building a unified, stable, and secure state.
