Libyan Member of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Saeed Imgheib, stated that what is happening in Tripoli today is not random political chaos, but rather a deliberate operation to reshape the security and political scene, led by the United States and Turkey, each pursuing its own interests.

In a post on his Facebook account, Imgheib explained that the United States is exerting pressure from behind, while keeping the weak Government of National Unity (GNU) of Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba in place, provided that it cooperates with files important to American policy.

He noted that Turkey maintains the balance of militias and fuels divisions to prevent the establishment of a unified National Army, ensuring the continuation of its “illegitimate presence” in Libya.

“All of this may pave the way for imposing a new reality, in which suspicious or even extremist figures could be recycled with international and regional support, as happened in other arenas,” Imgheib warned.

He stressed that the Libyan people today need strong national awareness to confront the plan, as the scene is being reshaped externally through Dbaiba’s government internally.

His remarks come amid heightened military mobilisations and rising instability in Tripoli, where rival factions and foreign interventions continue to obstruct reconciliation and lasting peace.
