The Libyan National Army (LNA) announced that units of the elite 106th Brigade – Sa’iqa (Commandos) carried out a parachute jump exercise this week as part of the first paratrooper and commando training course held in Al-Mushir Khalifa Haftar Military City.

According to a statement by the General Command, the drills were designed to boost the efficiency and combat readiness of the brigade’s forces, sharpening their airborne and tactical skills to meet the demands of future operations. The exercise comes at a time when the Libyan Army continues efforts to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and specialized training across its formations.

Military officials emphasized that such exercises represent a qualitative leap in preparing troops for unconventional operations, particularly in desert and urban environments. The training also aligns with broader plans to develop rapid response units capable of handling diverse security challenges inside the country.

The General Command further noted that these programs highlight the commitment of the Libyan Army to establishing modern, highly trained forces capable of ensuring national security and stability.

The event followed an inspection visit on Wednesday by Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of the Libyan Army, who toured the Special Forces headquarters to review training facilities and monitor progress. His visit underscored the leadership’s focus on building a disciplined, battle-ready army equipped with advanced skills.
