The Command of the Ground Forces Chief of Staff has formally announced the start of joint operational activities with Chad, marking a significant step in strengthening military coordination and border security between the two countries.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting held at Point 35, attended by the Commander of the Southern Military Region, Major General Mabrouk Sahban, the Commander of the Joint Force, Brigadier General Abdel Fattah Bouzayan, and the Chief of Staff of the Chadian Armed Forces accompanied by his deputy. Senior officers from both sides were also present, underscoring the strategic importance of the initiative.

During the meeting, both delegations agreed on a structured mechanism to regulate joint field operations. The framework outlines coordination procedures, communication channels, and operational responsibilities aimed at enhancing security cooperation and addressing shared challenges along the border. Discussions focused particularly on combating smuggling, illegal cross-border movements, and other transnational threats that have long affected the southern region.

A formal ceremony was held to mark the official launch of the joint missions, symbolizing the transition from coordination talks to active implementation. Officials described the atmosphere as constructive and reflective of a shared commitment to reinforcing stability and safeguarding national security interests.

The visit concluded with the Libyan delegation returning safely to Libyan territory, without any reported incidents. Military sources characterized the engagement as productive, highlighting the spirit of mutual understanding and collaboration between the two sides.
