The Libyan Red Crescent announced the rescue of 45 migrants of different nationalities after their boat encountered serious difficulties off the coast of Tobruk in eastern Libya.

According to an official statement issued on Saturday, the Tobruk branch of the organization received an emergency alert from coastal security authorities reporting that the migrants were suffering from severe exhaustion after a dangerous sea journey across the Mediterranean.

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the location, where humanitarian workers managed to evacuate the migrants and bring them safely ashore. Officials said many of those rescued were suffering from hunger, fatigue, dehydration, and psychological stress after spending long hours in difficult maritime conditions.

The organization confirmed that emergency assistance and first aid were provided upon arrival, including food, water, and medical care for those in need. Humanitarian teams also carried out initial assessments to ensure the migrants received the necessary support following the rescue operation.

The Libyan Red Crescent stated that the mission was conducted within the framework of its partnership program with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which supports emergency humanitarian response efforts involving migrants and displaced populations in Libya.
