Seven Libyan hunters who had been detained in Chad have been released following direct intervention by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar.

The hunters arrived at Benina International Airport in Benghazi after their release, marking the end of their detention in Chad.

According to the statement, the release came after direct follow-up and intervention by Saddam Haftar, who acted to secure their return to Libya.

The case had drawn attention because it involved Libyan citizens held outside the country, with their families and local communities awaiting confirmation of their safety and return.

Their arrival at Benina International Airport was seen as a relief for relatives and supporters, especially after concerns over their detention abroad.

The release of the seven hunters also reflects the importance of diplomatic and security coordination in resolving cases involving Libyan nationals detained in neighbouring countries.

Libya shares wide desert borders with several African states, including Chad, where cross-border movement, security issues and local disputes can sometimes lead to arrests or detentions.

The return of the hunters to Benghazi is expected to be welcomed by their families and communities, following efforts to ensure their safe release and transfer back home.
