Ahmed Maiteeq, Vice President of the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) Presidential Council, arrived on Saturday in Ankara, Turkey, to take part in a series of working meetings, according to OilPrice website.

The OilPrice website did not mention which Turkish official Maiteeq would meet, or for how long he would stay in Turkey.

On 18 September, Maiteeq announced the creation of a Joint Commission to control oil revenues and ensure “the fair distribution” of these revenues in accordance with the principles set out.

The Spokesman of the LNA, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, explained the agreement on oil entailed the formation of a committee to distribute oil revenues.

“The committee will consist of Vice President of the Presidency Council, Ahmed Maiteeq, Libyan tribal sheikhs, and members of the Libyan Parliament,” Al-Mismari added.

Yesterday, Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, welcomed commitments by political leaders in eastern Libya to end the conflict and resume oil production.
