Khalifa Haftar Meets with Benghazi Security Room

The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met with the head and members of the Joint Security Chamber in Benghazi on Monday.

The meeting touched upon the security scene and what had been implemented by the Security Chamber and its security and military agencies. The plans and tasks of the second phase of Operation Law Enforcement, targeting all hideouts of criminals and outlaws in Benghazi, were also revised.

According to the LNA Military Information Division`s statement, this meeting was concluded with the Commander-in-Chief’s confirmation of the speedy implementation of orders and the necessity of continuing efforts to impose security.

He directed the security chamber to complete the entire process and to ensure that the security is fully guaranteed in the streets of Benghazi.

It is worth noting that the security room was formed under the directives of the LNA’s Commander in Chief. It includes as members the Interior Minister, the Director of the Benghazi Security Directorate, the Director of the General Department for Criminal Research, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, as well as the Head of the Benghazi Internal Security Agency.
