On Tuesday, German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza held telephone conversations with Major General Osama Al-Juwaili the Commander of the Western Military Region of the Government of National Accord (GNA), and member of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC), Major General Ahmed Abu Shahma. They discussed the reopening of the coastal road and the withdrawal of foreign fighters as agreed upon in the Geneva ceasefire agreement.

“We discussed the urgent need of the coastal road opening to create confidence and economic perspectives. We also addressed the agreed withdrawal of foreign fighters,” the ambassador tweeted.

On Saturday, the JMC called on the participants of 2020‘s Berlin Conference to fulfill their obligations over the Libyan crisis, including withdrawing their mercenaries from the country, and complying with the UN arms embargo.
