On Saturday, the Libyan Municipal Guard Authority in Benghazi closed a number of shops and pharmacies in Benghazi for inflating prices of products amid public panic over the Covid-19 virus. In a statement, the authority added that such activities will not be tolerated and they will take strict action against them.

It also warned businesses’ owners against exploiting public fears over the coronavirus, after a Libyan citizen was found to have the disease last week.

The media center of the Municipal Guard Authority added that more inspections campaigns will be carried out to ensure that prices of all products remain unchanged.
