Libyan authorities have deported 35 Egyptian irregular migrants through the Musaid land border crossing as part of ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws and combat irregular migration, the Ajdabiya branch of the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency announced.
According to the agency, the deportation operation was carried out after all legal, security, and administrative procedures had been completed.
The migrants were repatriated through the agency’s deportation office at the Musaid border crossing under the supervision of Colonel Mohamed Ali Al-Fudail, Director of the Central Region and Southeast Branches.
Officials said the group included two Egyptian nationals who had been issued court rulings and deportation orders by the Public Prosecution. Another individual was deported after being diagnosed with Hepatitis B, with the necessary health measures implemented before his return.
The remaining 32 migrants had been detained after entering Libya illegally without valid travel documents or official identification, according to the agency. Authorities confirmed that all deportees were processed in accordance with Libyan laws and immigration regulations before being transferred to the border crossing.
The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency said the operation forms part of a broader campaign to curb irregular migration, strengthen border security, and implement deportation decisions against individuals residing in Libya without legal status.
Libya remains a major transit country for migrants seeking to reach Europe through the Mediterranean. In response, authorities have intensified border control measures and expanded cooperation among security agencies to combat irregular migration and enforce immigration laws.
