Libya’s Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Al-Butnan has deported 133 undocumented migrants who entered the country illegally, the branch said.
The deported migrants were from Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan, Ethiopia and Egypt. The operation was carried out after the completion of all required legal procedures.
According to the agency, some of the migrants were arrested while attempting to migrate illegally by sea, while others were detained by security authorities within the branch’s jurisdiction for lacking valid travel documents or legal residency papers.
The Al-Butnan branch said investigations confirmed that all the deported migrants had entered Libyan territory through illegal routes.
It added that the deportations were conducted in accordance with Libyan laws and regulations, following the necessary legal and administrative procedures.
