On Thursday, the Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni of Libya’s Interim Government held a meeting with the Minister of Social Affairs, Fathia Ali Hamid, to discuss the Ministry’s role during the current crisis.

The cabinet’s media office stated that the meeting, which was held at Al-Thinni’s residence in Benghazi, tackled the role of workers in social care facilities, rehabilitation centers and retirement homes.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of providing rehabilitation courses to those workers, in addition to meeting the needs of all retirement and disabled homes by setting up a social responsibility fund, which will be discussed during the upcoming cabinet meeting.

Al-Thinni also directed the minister to monitor the requirements of rehabilitation centers and retirement homes, stressing the importance of assessing the needs of those segments of society on a regular basis, especially in light of the current public health crisis experienced by Libya and the world.
