On Sunday, the Economic and Social Development Fund (ESDF) held a meeting with Libyan African Aviation Holding Company officials to discuss the latest developments regarding the maintenance works of the United Aviation Company-affiliated aircrafts in Malta and Switzerland.

The meeting, held at the ESDF’s headquarters in Tripoli, was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan African Aviation Holding Company and the General Director of the United Aviation Company.

The attendees agreed to take more efforts to expedite the completion of the maintenance works of these Libyan aircrafts and to coordinate their return with concerned parties.

This meeting comes within the framework of the ESDF and the Libyan African Holding Company’s follow-up to complete the maintenance works of the three aircrafts belonging to the United Aviation Company and bringing them back to the country.

Notably, the Government of National Unity (GNU) decided to allocate an excess of 90 million dinars to the Ministry of Transport for the maintenance of airplanes of both Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways companies.

The decision stipulated that this amount would be deducted from Chapter Five of the budget, allocated originally for emergency expenditures.
