The Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, said that the continued presence of foreign forces and mercenaries in Libya, was hindering the ability to hold Libya’s December elections on time.

During an interview with the Egyptian state-run newspaper, Akhbar Al-Youm, Saleh said that the international community will have to discuss the withdrawal of foreign mercenaries during the Berlin II Conference, which is set to be held on 23 June.

Saleh also called for the international community to exert more “pressure”, to end the foreign military presence in Libya.
