Saad Okoub, the Minister of Health, confirmed he is keeping up to date with all the suspected, and confirmed COVID-19 cases in Eastern Libya. He stated that home quarantine is obligatory and non-negotiable, as it remains the first line of self defence, against the virus.

In a statement published by the Health Ministry’s Information Office, the Minister said that they have completed the necessary preparations for the medical isolation centers. These centers are now ready to receive any case suffering from respiratory infections, particularly COVID-19.

Okoub stressed that individuals who had been in contact with the confirmed cases, have been thoroughly examined, and have not tested positive for the virus, but will continue to remain under home quarantine.
