Libya’s Anti-Illegal Immigration authority announced on Saturday the deportation of 16 irregular migrants through Benina International Airport as part of ongoing measures to regulate the status of foreign nationals and curb irregular migration.
The deported group included ten Bangladeshi nationals, four Yemenis and two Pakistanis, according to the authority.
It said the deportation procedures were completed under the approved security plan and in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the removal of foreign nationals from Libya.
The authority confirmed that deportation operations would continue in coordination with the relevant agencies to strengthen security and enforce the rule of law.
The measures were carried out under directives from the General Command of the Libyan National Army and instructions from the Interior Minister of the Libyan Government-designate.
