Prime Minister Al-Thani: We Will Support our Medical Personnel

Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thani of the Eastern based Interim Government said on Tuesday that it is necessary to take good care of the country’s doctors, paramedics, nursing staff, and all health sector workers, stressing the need to provide them with material and moral support.

The instructions of the prime minister came during a meeting held at his residence in the city of Benghazi with Minister of Health Saad Aqoub.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Medical Supply Authority, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee to Combat the Covid-19 Epidemic, and the Director of Projects Management at the Ministry of Health.

This meeting comes within the framework of the President’s review of all the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the government to confront the virus.

The prime minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the medical personnel in Libya, stressing that they are the first line of defense in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also reviewed the strategic stockpiling of medical supply and equipment to ensure Libya is prepared to sustain its battle against the virus in the long term.
