The Foreign Ministry of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said on Tuesday that it would conduct medical tests for COVID-19 on citizens stranded in Egypt, Tunisia and Turkey and place them in quarantine for a period of two weeks.

The spokesman for the GNA, Mohamed Al-Qiblawi, told Russian news agency ‘Sputnik’ that this decision would be circulated to all its embassies and consulates. The procedures will begin in the coming days, after the arrival of a committee to supervise the analyses and quarantine.

Al-Qiblawi added that the Foreign Ministry was working on providing assistance to nationals in other states, adding that various proposals were being submitted by embassies, to conduct special trips after the necessary testing was complete. The Foreign Ministry is evaluating the proposals but has made no firm decision.
