Interim Government Covers Costs of Families Stranded in Egypt

On Wednesday, a member of the Cairo Committee formed by the Libyan Interim Government, Ibrahim Mohamed, said that the government has agreed to provide a EGP 2000 monthly allowance for all stranded Libyan families in Egypt, as well as covering the costs of their accommodation.

In a statement, Mohamed added that the financial grant would only be given to Libyan families that had travelled to Egypt in 2020

The commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, issued orders yesterday to the committees in charge of tackling the COVD-19 crisis, to allow the return of Libyans stranded abroad before the holy month of Ramadan.

He also ordered to complete all necessary medical tests under the supervision of the ‘Supreme Committee to Combat Coronavirus’, before allowing those nationals to enter the country. The biggest concern for the committees is allowing their return without endangering society.
