On Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government for National Accord (GNA) announced the arrival of a shipment of five thousand Covid-19 test kits at the international airport in Misrata.

According to the statement, the shipment is a result of the Libyan Foreign Ministry’s efforts to provide the Libyan Ministry of Health and the National Center for Disease Control with the necessary medical supplies to combat the Coronavirus.

The shipment was arranged in coordination with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Libyan Embassy in Beijing confirmed that its contents were donated by city of Kwangju. The Embassy then transferred the cargo to Hong Kong Airport for shipment to Misrata Airport in Libya.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that efforts to receive more medical aid continue, in line with agreements between Chinese authorities and Libyan authorities.
