The Libyan Embassy in Rome announced that it had finalized plans to repatriate Libyan citizens who are currently stranded in Italy and wished to return to Libya.

In a statement, the Embassy said it had contracted a number of hotels in northern, central and southern Italy to ensure that Libyan nationals wishing to return to Libya undergo a two week quarantine period prior to travelling to the country.

This will be carried out under the supervision of security services, as well as a specialized medical team that will administer COVID-19 medical tests prior to the quarantine and repeat the test at the end of the 2-week period.

The Embassy has called on all stranded Libyan citizens to register their details with its staff should they wish to return to Libya.
