On Monday, Libya’s Chargé d’Affairs in Cairo, Mohamed Abdelali Mesbah received a delegation from the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity (GNU).
They discussed the measures taken to facilitate the recruitment of Egyptian workers to Libya. The delegation praised the steps taken, and the cooperation between the Ministry and the Embassy.
This came as part of the framework between the Libyan and Egyptian Labour Ministries, regarding the recruitment of Egyptian workers to help in the reconstruction of Libya.
The delegation included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation, the Director of the Investment Authority office in the ministry, the Director of the Internal Audit office in the ministry, and delegates to follow up the workflow of the labour attaché at the Embassy.
On Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower announced it would begin accepting applications for 37 job opportunities in Libya. This includes seven in the medical field, with salaries of up to EGP 20,000. The Ministry revealed that it will accept the applications from 16-31 January.
The Egyptian Minister of Manpower, Mohamed Saafan stated that this is the second request for Egyptian medical staff in Libya. This comes after the launch of the electronic link system between the two ministries, in order to organise and protect the entry of Egyptian workers to Libya.
The Minister announced that the required professions are: four doctors specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology, a doctor who specialises in diagnostic radiology, two nurses specialising in emergency and ambulance services, five nurses specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology, 13 nurses specialising in surgery, 10 nurses specialising in paediatrics, and two nurses specialising as legal midwives.
Saafan explained that to apply for these jobs, the applicant must have 3-10 years of experience, and be aged from 25-37 years. In terms of obstetrics and gynaecology, the age of the applicant must be between 38-50 years with salaries ranging from 3,500 to 4,500 Libyan Dinars, which is equivalent to EGP 15,505 to EGP 19,935 approximately.
