The Tunisian Ministry of Defense, denied reports that Turkey had used Tunisian territory, to launch military operations against Libya.
It said in an official statement that Tunisia exercises absolute sovereignty over all its land, sea, and air, and would not allow foreign forces to carry out military operations.
Last January, it was reported that Turkey had asked Tunisia to set up a military base for operations against Libya, which was denied by the media advisor to the Tunisian President, Rachida Nafeer.
Nafeer stated that Tunisia had not received a request of this kind from Turkey, and that Tunisia rejects all foreign interference in Libya, noting that the solution to the conflict must be between Libyans.
