The official in charge of the coronavirus file at the Libyan office of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ramadan Osman, denied rumours circulating on social media about the country leaving the circle of danger regarding the coronavirus epidemic.

In a statement published by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, Osman claimed that those social media pages seek to block precautionary measures put in place by competent medical authorities to prevent the spread of the virus.

Osman emphasized that the only body authorised to issue a statement regarding community health is NCDC, warning citizens not to pay attention to such news, and calling upon them to abide by the precautionary measures, procedures and commitment to curfew, as well as avoiding crowded places.

According to the NCDC, the number of coronavirus infections in Libya reached 63, among which 22 have recovered and 3 who died.
