On Sunday, the Libyan Embassy in Spain announced that 150 stranded nationals had landed in Misrata Airport, adding that they had successfully completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine before being repatriated.

In a statement, the Embassy said that all procedures followed the government’s plan to curb the outbreak of Covid-19 within Libya’s territory.

The Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) has taken a series of preemptive measures against COVID-19, including closing borders, restricting travel and banning public gatherings. A nationwide curfew has also been imposed, and mosques and schools have been closed.

According to Libya’s National Center for Disease Control, the country has registered 64 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the global pandemic, including 24 recoveries and three deaths.
