The speaker of Egypt’s House of Representatives, Ali Abdel-Aal, criticized Turkey, saying it is transferring terrorists from Syria to Libya in a way which threatens the security of the region and Europe.

These remarks came during a meeting held on Sunday with the speaker of the Austrian National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka, to discuss bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation.

“Egypt is now highly attractive in all areas of investment, and tops Africa and the Middle East in terms of direct investment inflows,” said Abdel-Aal.

In January, Turkey has already sent 650 Syrian rebel fighters to Libya, the Guardian newspaper reported citing Syrian sources all three countries, while another 1,350 fighters crossed into Turkey ahead of another deployment to Tripoli.

Turkey initially deployed 300 fighters from the Syrian National Army (SNA), an umbrella group of rebels supported and funded by Ankara and formally known as the Free Syrian Army. Those men had left Syria through the Hawar Kilis military border on December 24, with another deployment of 350 fighters on December 29.
