The United States has announced the allocation of $6.5 million to assist Libya in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This support aims to assist the various municipalities to form crisis response units, develop emergency crisis assistance, and train response teams in emergencies, whilst assisting migrants and refugees in Libya.
The Embassy noted that the US has supported Libya to date with $12 million, providing essential aid since the outbreak began.
Libya’s total number of cases stands at 168, with 52 recoveries and 5 deaths.
