A Libyan engineer named Malik Adnan Ibrahim Al-Badri was one of the members of the supervising group for the launch of astronauts to International Space Station (ISS).

Eng. Malik was a part of the technical staff of the U.S. company, SpaceX. He participated in the preparation works for the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft using the Falcon 9 rocket.

SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, launched at 3:22 p.m EDT from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla, on 30 May.

Its mission was to take U.S. astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken to the ISS.

The launch marks an important transition in crewed space travel for NASA.

It shifts the government space agency from having complete control over U.S. launches, to being just another customer of a private space flight company.

Malik finished his secondary education in Libya in 2012 and then went to the United States to join the University of Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2018.

Malik is also a very distinguished tennis player. He played football in the Hay Al-Dimashk club, before moving to Al-Ahly Club in Tripoli.
