Benina International Airport has received a specially chartered flight carrying 38 Libyan nationals that were stranded in Sudan.

The ‘Coronavirus Monitoring and Investigation Team’ in Benghazi confirmed the monitoring team had completed all health measures related to the quarantine of the returning citizens.

In a statement, the team stated it had housed the returnees in designated quarantine sites.

The Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) has adopted a series of preemptive measures against COVID-19.

This includes closing borders, restricting travel, and banning public gatherings.

A nationwide curfew has also been imposed, with mosques and schools remaining closed since mid-March.
