Moroccan Consul Praises Security in East Libya

Libyan Foreign Minister of the Parliament-designate government, Abdel-Hadi Al-Hwaij, met with Moroccan Consul General Saeed Benkiran at the ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Hwaij confirmed that no Moroccan citizens are detained, imprisoned, or sentenced in areas under their control.

He also welcomed the presence of Moroccan nationals in Libya for residence and work.

The discussions between Al-Hwaij and the Moroccan consul covered issues of mutual interest, including the conditions of the Moroccan community in Libya.

The Libyan minister reiterated his government’s hospitality towards Moroccans seeking to work and live in Libya.

Consul General Benkiran praised the strong bilateral relations between Libya and Morocco. He affirmed the commitment of both sides to achieve further successes and to implement the terms of the joint action plan.

Additionally, he commended the level of security and stability in the areas governed by the House of Representatives’ appointed administration.
