The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, met with the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, on Sunday to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing the performance and development of the country’s oil facilities.

The meeting took place at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli and focused on fostering joint cooperation to stabilize and ensure the long-term independence of Libya’s oil sector, which would lead to increased production.

This meeting followed the recent announcement by the government appointed by the House of Representatives, led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad, and the NOC, lifting force majeure on all oil fields and ports.

The resumption of oil production and exports came after a resolution of the Central Bank of Libya crisis and the official handover of the governor’s position to Naji Issa.

Last Thursday, Bengdara also met with Acting UN Envoy to Libya, Stephanie Khoury, to discuss the sustainability of oil production.

He reaffirmed the NOC’s commitment to cooperating with regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and equitable distribution of oil revenues.
