Libya’s Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister of the Government of National Unity, Ramadan Abu Janah, met with Tunisian Health Minister, Mustafa Al-Farjani, on Tuesday.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 71st session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Doha, Qatar.

According to a statement from the Libyan Ministry of Health, both ministers emphasised the deep historical ties between Libya and Tunisia.

Discussions centred on enhancing healthcare cooperation between the two countries, particularly in pharmaceutical manufacturing and the exchange of expertise.

The 71st session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean runs from 14 to 17 October, with participation from health ministers and high-level representatives of the region’s countries.

Partner organisations and civil society members are also attending the event to address key public health issues.

This meeting highlights Libya’s efforts to strengthen regional collaboration and explore opportunities for shared growth in the health sector.

It also reflects both nations’ commitment to leveraging their relationship for mutual benefit, particularly in areas like medicine production.
