On Saturday, the Chief of Staff of Libya’s Ground Forces, Major General Saddam Haftar, held a high-level meeting with directors of security directorates and heads of key security agencies to discuss the latest developments in the country’s security landscape.

The meeting, which included the participation of the Deputy Minister of Interior, focused on evaluating the performance of law enforcement agencies, addressing challenges, and reviewing strategies to enhance public safety and stability.

The discussion assessed the effectiveness of current security operations and examined plans to improve the coordination between military and civilian security forces. Participants explored new initiatives aimed at addressing emerging threats while maintaining peace in key areas of the country.

During the meeting, Saddam Haftar emphasized the Libyan National Army (LNA)’s commitment, under the leadership of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, to supporting security institutions in their efforts to enhance operational efficiency. He stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between the military and security agencies to ensure the protection of citizens and infrastructure across Libya.

Saddam Haftar highlighted the need for continuous training, improved coordination, and modernized equipment to boost the performance of security forces. This collaboration aims to develop sustainable security frameworks, equipping law enforcement personnel to handle crises effectively and adapt to evolving threats.

The meeting comes at a critical time, as Libya works to restore stability following years of conflict and political turmoil. Strengthening the link between military support and security operations has become essential to rebuild public trust and ensure long-term security across the country.

The participants ended the meeting with a renewed commitment to boosting coordination between military and civilian security sectors, focusing on law enforcement, public safety, and crisis management. Both sectors pledged to continue working closely to meet national security objectives efficiently and effectively.
