The National Heart Center in Benghazi announced the successful completion of 76 open-heart surgeries by its surgical team between July 25 and the end of October. This achievement reflects an average of two surgeries per day, covering both simple and complex cases.
According to the center’s media office, these procedures included 52 coronary artery surgeries, with 40 of these performed using beating-heart techniques.
The team also conducted 14 valve surgeries, two atrial septal defect repairs, four aortic surgeries, and seven emergency operations for acute heart attacks and unstable angina cases.
