US & UAE Stress Importance of De-escalation in Libya

The White House announced,m on Wednesday that President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, discussing regional security issues, including the Libyan crisis.

In a statement, the White House reported that the two sides discussed the importance of de-escalation in Libya, and the withdrawal of all foreign forces.

This is part of a series of recent calls made by the US President, with various heads of states involved in the conflict.

On the 20th July, President Trump spoke about the latest developments in the Libya with Egyptian President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi. This is following a call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last week, where they agreed on the importance of working closely together, to ensure lasting stability in Libya.
