The Tripoli Security Directorate announced the arrest of a serial killer following a joint operation involving the Suq Al-Juma Police Station, the Security Convoy Unit, and the Criminal Investigation Office.
The investigation began with a report of a woman’s murder in the Suq Al-Juma area. Security forces identified and apprehended the suspect, who later confessed to the crime.
According to the Directorate’s statement, the suspect admitted to killing the woman by striking her with a fire extinguisher outside her home. During the investigation, he also made shocking confessions about committing additional murders.
The suspect revealed that he had strangled his mother in their family home using a rope and a plastic bag. Additionally, he admitted to murdering a man in Ain Zara on October 3rd with the assistance of his two brothers, using a Kalashnikov rifle.
The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office after all necessary legal procedures were completed.

Despite the ceasefire, security remains a significant concern with sporadic fighting and the presence of mercenaries and foreign fighters. The unification of the military and the removal of foreign forces are crucial challenges.
