The US Chargé d’Affaires to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, met with Libya’s Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwaij, in Tunis to discuss strengthening economic ties and enhancing transparency to foster a better business environment.
In a statement released following the meeting, Berndt expressed his satisfaction with the discussions, emphasising the importance of mutual cooperation.
“We discussed ways to enhance economic collaboration between the United States and Libya and the critical role of transparency in improving Libya’s business climate and fostering stronger trade and investment links,” he said.
The talks reflect growing interest from both nations to revitalise trade relations and encourage foreign investment in Libya. The meeting addressed opportunities to improve economic stability and create a more attractive environment for international businesses.
