On Sunday, Libyan Airlines announced the resumption of its flights by starting a flight from Mitiga International Airport to Istanbul. This is the company’s first flight after a period of closure.
The company published, through its Facebook account, photos of the equipment for the company’s LN192 flight, as well as greetings to the airport workers.
On August 4, the Airports Authority of the Government of National Accord (GNA) announced the end of all services’ suspension to commercial airlines from Misrata International Airport. It also announced the resumption of departing commercial flights from Mitiga Airport, starting Sunday, August 9.
Libya has been engulfed in a power struggle since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in a NATO-backed uprising in 2011.
