Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), inaugurated a number of vital infrastructure projects in Ajdabiya as part of a broader national plan to enhance urban development and improve public services across Libyan cities.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials including Prime Minister Osama Hammad, Director General of the Reconstruction and Development Fund Belgasem Haftar, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, Second Deputy Mosbah Douma, as well as several members of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State.

Also in attendance were Chief of General Staff General Khaled Haftar, Commander of the 166th Brigade Lieutenant General Ayoub Bousif, Lieutenant General Bassem Al-Bouaishi, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Al-Qatrani, several government ministers, deputy ministers, security and military commanders, and prominent elders and residents of the city.

Among the key projects inaugurated was the central Ajdabiya bridge, a strategic artery that connects Libya’s eastern and western regions. Another major development was the Ajdabiya–Tobruk highway bridge, expected to ease traffic congestion and improve transportation flow.

These projects form part of a national push for service-oriented and economic development, aiming to improve mobility for citizens and accelerate urban expansion.

In his speech, Prime Minister Osama Hammad emphasized that these achievements were made possible due to the stability ensured by the sacrifices of the armed forces under Field Marshal Haftar’s leadership. He highlighted the projects as a core part of the General Commander’s vision to rebuild Libya’s cities and deliver essential services to its citizens.

Hammad also praised the pivotal role of the Reconstruction and Development Fund in executing key projects—not only in areas impacted by Storm Daniel but across all regions of the country.

Concluding his remarks, Hammad described the inauguration as a tribute to Ajdabiya’s historical significance as a national crossroads, urging residents to support their security institutions and safeguard recent accomplishments for the benefit of future generations.
