Libya and Turkey have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of Labour, employment, and vocational training, during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 6th Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers in Doha, Qatar.

Libya’s Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, met with his Turkish counterpart, Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labour and Social Security, to explore new mechanisms for enhancing professional collaboration between the two countries.

The talks focused on expanding training programs, improving workforce skills, and sharing expertise in Labour market regulation and social protection development. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination to advance employment policies, strengthen human capital, and promote sustainable economic and social growth.

The ministers also agreed on the need to activate joint initiatives in training and capacity-building, ensuring that cooperation translates into tangible opportunities for workers and institutions in both Libya and Turkey.

The meeting comes as Libya seeks to modernize its Labour sector and align training programs with international standards, while Turkey continues to expand its partnerships with countries across the Islamic Cooperation Organization framework.
