The newly appointed British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, officially presented copies of his credentials to Libya’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Al-Taher Al-Baour, during a meeting held in Tripoli.
The ceremony marked the formal commencement of Reynolds’ diplomatic mission in Libya, as he assumes his role as the United Kingdom’s top envoy to the country. The meeting served as an opportunity for both sides to review the current state of bilateral relations between Libya and the United Kingdom and discuss prospects for strengthening cooperation in various fields.
During the discussions, Acting Minister Al-Baour expressed his appreciation for the long-standing relations between the two nations and welcomed Ambassador Reynolds to his new post. He conveyed his best wishes for the ambassador’s success in his duties, emphasising the importance of continued collaboration between London and Tripoli, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as security, development, and economic partnerships.
Ambassador Reynolds reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Libya’s stability and development. He highlighted the UK’s readiness to work closely with Libyan institutions to advance peace, governance, and reconstruction efforts.
