The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced an open invitation to Libyans to participate in an upcoming online discussion focused on the country’s economic track, as part of its broader efforts to engage citizens in shaping Libya’s future.
The session is scheduled for April 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM and will be led by Ulrika Richardson, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya.
According to the mission, the discussion will focus on the economic pillar of the structured dialogue process currently underway. Participants will explore ways to build unified, stable, and accountable economic institutions capable of addressing Libya’s ongoing challenges and responding to citizens’ needs.
UNSMIL emphasized that the session is open to all Libyans, reflecting its commitment to inclusive dialogue and broad public participation. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions and contribute ideas, with responses provided during the session.
The economic track has become a central component of international and local efforts to stabilize Libya, particularly in light of continued institutional divisions and financial management challenges.
