All ports of entry into Libya have been closed and Libyans abroad have been told to refrain from entering Libya, Lieutenant General Abdelrazek Al-Nathouri said yesterday.

At a press conference organized by the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Lieutenant General Al-Nathouri said that the government has enough stocks to last several months. The official added that consumer associations will begin distributing these goods starting next Sunday.

Interior Minister of the eastern-based Interim Government Ibrahim Bushnaaf said that the government would impose strict penalties on anyone who violated the curfew or other measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, such as the ban on prayers inside mosques or squares.

Bushnaaf also suggested that the duration of the curfew, which currently lasts from 6pm to 6am, could be increased if necessary.
