Egypt’s President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi stated that a comprehensive political solution remains the only way to achieve stability in Libya.

The president stressed the importance of preserving the territorial integrity of Libya, and the necessity for all foreign forces to be expelled. He also urged the dismantling and disarming of all militias and extremist groups, as well as the unification of all state institutions.

This came in his speech during the tripartite summit between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece in Cyprus today.

During the meeting, the heads of states discussed cooperation in energy, the Mediterranean Gas Forum and regional political issues in the eastern Mediterranean. The combat against terrorism and illegal immigration also featured highly in the meeting.
